The "On The Edge" Program offered thirteen young people the opportunity to bounce from the roof and run on the walls at Legs on the Wall's purpose built physical theatre rehearsal studio, The Red Box, every Friday night for 8 weeks in Term 1, 2009.
"On The Edge” was a local partnership program between Leichhardt Council and Legs on the Wall, Australia's leading physical theatre company, based in Lilyfield within the Leichhardt Local Government Area.
The program was designed to develop physical skills, performance ability, strength, courage and friendships for young people connected with Leichhardt Council’s Youth After Dark Program. “On The Edge” provided the opportunity to defy gravity and experience thrills similar to 'parkour' through running, jumping and dancing on the walls using ropes, harnesses, bungee and custom built track technology.
The program culminated in a showcase performance for an invited audience of family, friends, volunteers, staff and mentors.
